I Heart Cupcakes

Cupcakes in my mind are the perfect dessert. They are pretty and you get to unwrap them like a gift. Most importantly - they are cake!

Maybe it is a tribute to my youth when mom would make cupcakes for my birthday and I would bring them to school to share. Little cups of cake goodness covered with frosting and sprinkles. Oh the joy! I love them so much I served them at my wedding (above)and at my daughter's first birthday.

Martha (Stewart - duh) has a beautiful array of cupcakes on the cover of the February issue of Living. I almost ate the magazine when it arrived in the mail. Inside the issue 15 recipes for cupcakes. From a Boston Creme Pie to an Orange-Vanilla Bean. I am drooling all over my keyboard just thinking about it. On Wednesday's show Martha is dedicating an entire hour to these delicious treats. I will be baking up a storm this weekend for sure.
