Garden in a box

I am on somewhat of a before and after kick today - maybe it's the antibiotics.

This picture is of the small garden in front of our house. Well not exactly in front, more to the left of the driveway. As you can see by our neighbor's lawn the town has still not picked up the debris from the ice storm that took place 5 months ago. Fortunately for them this blog is not about the fact that birds have built their nests in the debris and will now be harmed when the town does come to pick it up. Really - that is not what this is about.

We gave this garden to my mom. She lives in a condo in Miami and needless to say does not really have any space to landscape. She is coming to visit in a few weeks to start work on her garden. I am sure is going to do something magical with it. She told me about Spring Hill Nurseries. They have a wonderful feature where you can purchase pre-planned gardens. The area she will be working in has a lot of shade and they have several choices for that. Cool huh! If you want to attract butterflies and hummingbirds there are preplanned gardens for that as well.
