| My yard was invaded by pirates this summer. |
I spent alot of time looking at this adorable face this summer.
We bonded over our mutual love of toast.

Coming up with ideas everyday plus my “real” job and my home life became too stressful. I knew deep down that I would never have a following like some of the blogs that I like to read. Stores would probably not clamor to have me write about products they sent me – for free! So for the summer I stepped away. I enjoyed our yard. I enjoyed some alone time with my husband and five nights in a row of hot food at restaurants where I didn’t have to wipe someone else’s mouth. I did a lot of thrifting and put focus on my ETSY shop, which has actually been doing pretty well. I hung out with pirates. I swam in the lake. I ate tomatoes right off the vine from our garden. I chilled in the kiddie pool. Most importantly I spent time with my growing children – one who is off to kindergarten this fall.
So now I am back. I’m still thinking on how this blog can best represent me. I don’t shop at West Elm and I have no desire to spend hundreds on a pair of jeans. Nope. That’s just not me, so why write about it. So please bear with me while I make some changes for the better and really find my voice here.

I will wait as long as it takes, V! So proud of you and ALL your work as a mom, blogger, thrifter, wife, and museum exhibitor extraordinaire!
