Dollar Store Frame ReCraft

I know it’s probably not “hip” to have those horrible plastic frames on my fridge with pictures of my kids or their Picasso like art work. I can’t help it. They are inexpensive, convenient, and in our house completely Alex proof. They are also ugly. I have a few 4x6 ones and an 8 x 10 that changes with Lillyana’s different art phases…right now it’s a let me illustrate Beatles songs period. I love it.

So in my quest to get my stuff organized, I looked to the fridge. Ok. That’s a lie. I was getting the last pudding out of the fridge and noticed that these frames were horrid. The pudding however was delicious – thank you for asking.

I came up with a simple and inexpensive way to make these look a little more fashionable and fun.

You will need a roll of washi tape or craft tape. You can find washi tape on sites like ETSY and Ebay. Craft tape is usually found in the scrap booking section at Michaels. This craft is so easy it is actually only one step. Get ready to have your mind blown…

Step 1 (and only): Line the edges of your frame with tape.

Bam! Yahtzee! You’re done.

If you get two coordinating tapes you could make a fun collage on your fridge or magnetic chalk board thingy you made because you saw it on Pinterest.

The best part is that this project only cost me $2. Since I already had the frames, I just had to shell out a little over $2 for the tape – which I was able to use a Michael’s coupon on. Yay for inexpensive, pretty crafts.

Now, who wants pudding!
